Beware until the coronavirus vaccine arrives: PM

Staff Reporter, daily dhumketu.com: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged everyone to remain vigilant till the coronavirus vaccine arrives. The Prime Minister made the call while joining a video conference from Ganabhaban at a discussion meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day on Sunday (August 30).

The Prime Minister said, “This time we are observing Ashura at a critical situation. The coronavirus has paralyzed the entire world. Our government is taking necessary steps to deal with this situation. We have continued all cooperation with the people. Allah tests people’s patience in adversity. At this time, everyone should be patient, tolerant, sympathetic, and helping each other.”

Sheikh Hasina said, “On August 15, another Karbala incident took place. As if the brutal massacre was repeated on August 15, 1975 at Dhanmondi No. 32.”

She said that on 10th Muharram of 61 Hijri, Hazrat Imam Husain (R), the beloved grandson of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and his family members were martyred in the desert of Karbala. Their sacrifice in establishing the truth and justice has become a shining and exemplary example for the Muslim Ummah.”

PM Sheikh Hasina further said that before the dawn of August 15, 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who had shown the light of liberation to the Bengali nation, was assassinated along with his family. The assassins did not spare even the women and children that day, which has become known as a stigmatized chapter of history.”

The Prime Minister said women and children were not killed in the Karbala massacre either. But on August 15, 1975, women and children were not spared.

The Prime Minister remarked that a newly independent state had lost its potential by assassinating Bangabandhu. Sheikh Hasina said the incident took place on August 15 when the country was on the path of economic development.
